Highways issues
The Parish Council are not responsible for highways issues or planning of roadworks, Cormac and Cornwall Council are responsible for highways and highways maintenance.
If you need to report a Highways issue such as pot holes, flooding, a street light out, an obstruction in the road this can be done online directly to Cornwall Council via this link https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/transport-parking-and-streets/roads-highways-and-pavements/report-a-problem-with-a-road-or-pavement/
Cornwall Council also have a very useful mapping tool available here https://map.cornwall.gov.uk/website/ccmap/
This has layers that can be switched on or off to show different information, such as classification of roads, public rights of way, tree preservation orders etc.
Current consultations on highways schemes
Quenchwell Road, Carnon Downs - October 2024
Cormac Solutions Ltd on behalf of Cornwall Council is inviting comments on a proposal to provide traffic calming measures on the approach to Carnon Downs and the Garden Centre. Being able to walk to the Garden Centre safely is something that residents have had concerns about for a number of years and it is hoped this scheme will improve safety for pedestrians on this route.
The safety improvements proposed include a priority give way, speed cushions and street lighting.
-
The priority build-out will be sited on the south bound approach to the village slightly north of the Garden Centre entrance.
-
Street lighting will also be sited out to the build-out from the village.
-
3 sets of cushions will also be installed between the proposed build-out and the village.
-
As highway widths do not allow the provision on a footway/pavement, the purpose of this scheme is to provide traffic calming on the approach to Carnon Downs and improve the pedestrian safety on this narrow section of highway by The Beeches.
You can download the plan of the changes here - Map of scheme
